Mr. Wong did not like his smile, he only open his mouth slightly when laughing, because he has lost most of his teeth since long time ago and now wearing a partial denture.
Mr. Wong does not like his existing denture because it is loose and uncomfortable. The remaining 3 front teeth were also badly decayed at the root area and were too weak to hold the denture.
Full mouth X-Ray shows very compromised tooth condition at the upper jaw, the upper front 3-unit bridge that was done long time ago was just barely hanging there. After thorough discussion with Mr. Wong, we have decided to go with full upper rehabilitation with 5 implants and an implant-retained-fixed-zirconia bridge.
Low radiation Cone Bean CT Scan was done in our surgery for proper implant and restorative planning. This new and advanced technology allows us to determine the size, length, and position of proposed implants for the best result.
A surgical guide stent was then made by 3D-Printer with careful calculation. Thanks to such invention, the invasiveness of implant surgery can be kept minimal.
The front defective bridge and roots were extracted, and the 5 implants were placed simultaneous. With the guide of surgical stent, there is no need to open up the gum with a blade.
Temporary bridge was made by 3-D printing prior to surgery. Then cemented immediately after surgery. The accuracy of the position is exceptional due to precise computer calculation.
Choosing the right colour.
Full Zirconia bridge is the restoration material of choice over porcelain, due to its excellent colour, strength and durability.
Final fit in and check of bite. As the treatment was carefully planned with advanced computer program, therefore there was almost no adjustment required.
Mr.Wong is a happy man. Now he can enjoy his steak, and laugh out loud without feeling embarrassed.
